I just spent 270,000 yuan on the Han EV, and I am deeply impressed by the green brand car. I advise those who want to buy it to think twice, or it will be too late to regret it!
I bought Tang DM three years ago and Han EV this year. Now I feel too deeply about the "green brand car". There are three shortcomings of new energy vehicles that can only be felt after long-term use. Many car critics only say some known shortcomings, but some of them are not known at all.
Before answering whether I regret spending more than 200,000 yuan on a green car, let me briefly explain what a green car is.
Green brand vehicles include: pure trams, plug-in hybrid vehicles, oil-electric hybrid vehicles and extended-range electric vehicles.
Han EV, Tucki P7, and these cars belong to pure trams. Among them, China has the strongest support for pure trams, and the pure trams of its own brand have developed rapidly. Compared with the technical shortcomings of fuel vehicles in three major parts, they are currently in the leading position in the field of pure trams and Huawei in the technology of three electric power plants.
A pure electric vehicle refers to an electric vehicle that is completely driven by the power provided by the power battery. The vehicle-mounted power battery is the power source and the wheels are driven by the motor.
Tang DM, GTE, eRX5, these cars belong to plug-in hybrid cars, among which the hybrid models are the most and the technology is relatively mature.
A series of DM-i models will be launched in the future, which is a further upgrade of hybrid vehicles, making up for some technical shortcomings of hybrid vehicles before, making hybrid vehicles the most powerful competitive models of fuel vehicles.
Plug-in hybrid vehicle is a new energy vehicle between a pure tram and a fuel vehicle, which includes both the engine and transmission of a traditional car and the battery and motor of a pure electric vehicle.
Because the battery capacity is relatively large, it can be charged through the charging interface. It combines the advantages of pure trams, hybrid electric vehicles and extended-range electric vehicles, and can not only drive purely electrically, but also increase the continuous driving of vehicles through hybrid mode.
Rational ONE, Celeste SF5 (selected by Huawei) and Lantu FREE belong to extended-range electric vehicles, among which the sales volume is the highest, but due to the large body, the fuel consumption as a new energy vehicle has been high (about 10 liters), which has become the slot point.
When the battery of the extended-range electric vehicle is sufficient, the power battery drives the motor, and the engine does not participate in the work at this time; When the battery power consumption reaches a certain level, the engine starts to charge the power battery; When the battery is fully charged, the engine stops working again.
The biggest difference between the extended-range electric vehicle and the hybrid vehicle is that the engine of the hybrid vehicle participates in driving the vehicle, while the engine of the extended-range electric vehicle is only responsible for driving the generator to charge the battery, and does not participate in driving the vehicle throughout.
Dual-engine, CR-V hybrid and dual-engine, these vehicles belong to hybrid electric vehicles, among which hybrid electric vehicles mainly focus on harmony. They have developed early and well-stocked hybrid electric technology, and the technology is relatively perfect.
The hybrid electric vehicle is mainly driven by the traditional engine, but it is equipped with a second motor. When starting and accelerating, the vehicle is driven by the motor, which can reduce the fuel consumption. Compared with cars of the same size, the fuel consumption is lower and the power is stronger.
The battery capacity of the hybrid electric vehicle is small, so there is no need for external charging, and the engine can drive the generator to charge the battery. However, due to the small battery, the motor cannot drive the vehicle for a long time, so it is not as powerful as the plug-in hybrid vehicle.
After knowing what a "green car" is, I will share my feelings of driving Tang DM and Han EV, hoping to give some valuable information to people who want to buy a green car.
Now, new energy vehicles are the future development trend. All major car companies are launching their own new energy vehicles, and many companies are preparing to build cars across the border. This "car-building craze" has brought an illusion to our consumers, as if buying a "green brand car" now is the right choice.
I saw several big brothers in Northeast China among the owners of Han EV. They often complained that the battery of Han EV was seriously attenuated in winter, and the hidden door handle was easily frozen.
In fact, in the extremely cold area of Northeast China, battery decay and hidden door handles are not problems of Han EV, but problems that all new energy vehicles will encounter. They should know the disadvantages of pure trams before buying a car.
Of course, although they have some regrets about buying pure trams, it is not because Han EV is not good, but because in the extremely cold area of Northeast China, pure trams still cannot technically overcome the problem of battery attenuation.
First, it will reduce battery life and cause coke ovens; Second, battery decay is also a waste of resources. To put it bluntly, it costs 50 yuan for electricity and can only last 30 yuan.
Although I bought the first Tang DM in 2019 and the second Han EV in 2021, I still want to tell you that you should think twice about buying new energy vehicles at this stage. Not all regions and people are suitable for new energy vehicles.
I bought Tang DM in 2019, and I liked Tang’s design very much at that time. However, based on my understanding of the three major parts of fuel vehicles, I thought that Tang fuel version was not the best choice, so I thought about it between Tang EV and Tang DM for a long time.
At that time, my recognition of pure trams was relatively low, and I thought that the batteries of pure trams were easy to break down, expensive to replace and short in battery life. After comprehensive consideration, I chose Tang DM, but in the actual use process, I found that Tang DM relied heavily on charging piles, which caused some troubles.
Because Tang DM is a plug-in hybrid car, it usually needs a charging pile to charge, but there was no fixed parking space in my old community at that time, so I had to choose a public charging pile to charge.
However, there is another problem. Tang DM can only charge slowly. It takes about 6 hours from power shortage to full charge. The public charging pile is 2.6 kilometers away from my home. It is obviously unrealistic for me to wait for full charge in the car, but I can only choose to take a taxi if I go home.
It costs 23 yuan to take a taxi back and forth every time, but Tang DM only needs 21 yuan when it is fully charged. Obviously, this is very uneconomical. Originally, I bought a hybrid car to save money. As a result, the plug-in hybrid car relied on charging piles and charging slowly, which increased my living cost and time cost. I once regretted it very much.
Therefore, if you can’t install charging piles in your community, and there are no public charging piles within one kilometer around the community, then I don’t recommend you to buy plug-in hybrid cars, otherwise the charging problem will be the biggest trouble for using cars, and you will easily fall into regret.
Some time ago, my friend and I drove the Han EV to Tai ‘an, Shandong Province, with a total distance of 656 kilometers. My Han EV is a four-wheel drive high-performance version with a battery life of only 550km kilometers. I know that I definitely need to charge it once in the middle, and I have overcome the lack of coke oven feeling in my heart, but I am still hurt by the charging problem.
Han EV has the function of fast charging. It only takes 25 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, and it can be fully charged in 40 minutes. What I want is to take a rest just by charging time, which is the best of both worlds, but it is actually completely different from what I thought.
I started from the new entrance of Wuhu City, and originally planned to charge in Jing ‘an parking area, which is 443 kilometers away. However, the pure tram ran at a high speed, and I turned on the air conditioner, and the power consumption was much faster than I expected. As a result, when I was 100 kilometers away from Jing ‘an parking area, the power was not enough for me to drive, so I had to choose to charge in Huangzangyu service area, which is 367 kilometers away from the new entrance.
When I drove to the Huangzangyu service area, not only were there cars charging, but there were also three cars waiting in line in front of me, which caused me to wait in line for an hour, plus it took 43 minutes to charge, which was nearly 2 hours from entering the service area to leaving a shared place.
I think that the anxiety of pure trams can be ignored since they have the fast charging function. Now the most unacceptable problem is the queuing problem of high-speed charging. Usually, there may be no need to queue up at high speed, but once they travel at the peak of holidays, pure trams may have to face the problem of charging queuing.
This problem can be slightly alleviated except for the new battery changing mode. At present, no effective way can be found. If the number of charging piles is simply increased, I don’t think it can keep up with the growth rate of electric vehicles.
Therefore, at present, pure trams still can’t solve the problem of running at high speed. If you need to run at high speed often, then pure trams are not the best choice for the time being, otherwise the problem of queuing at high speed is enough to make people collapse.
At present, many used car dealers are reluctant to accept pure trams and hybrid cars. In fact, this is not because used car dealers intend to suppress new energy vehicles, but because of their own problems.
The first question is, although the power battery has a lifetime warranty or an 8-year 120,000-kilometer warranty, there is no need to worry about battery failure, but battery attenuation is inevitable.
Because the power battery will decay, it is doomed to be unable to preserve its value in the used car market, and the depreciation rate is much higher than that of traditional fuel vehicles, so many green car owners will regret when selling used cars, and feel that green cars do not preserve their value.
The second problem is that new energy vehicles are developing rapidly, the technology iteration is too fast, and the battery life is increasing every year, resulting in no one willing to buy used cars.
Let’s take an example. The Tang DM I bought three years ago didn’t have the fast charging function, but now Xintang DM has it. Then the battery life of the pure tram three years ago was basically about 300 kilometers, and now the pure tram cruising is more than 500 kilometers.
This technical update and the increase of battery life have led to a very serious situation in the field of new energy vehicles, so users are unwilling to buy, and second-hand car dealers are naturally unwilling to accept, and new energy vehicles are doomed to be worthless.
Therefore, if you are particularly concerned about the hedge ratio and hope that new energy vehicles can sell at a good price in the future, then I advise you to think twice before buying a "green car", otherwise you will regret it because of the low hedge ratio in the future.
There are many advantages of pure trams, but what impressed me the most is not the strong power and cheap car use, but the huge space and ultra-low failure rate of pure trams.
Because the pure tram has no engine, gearbox and fuel tank, the space utilization ratio is much larger than that of the traditional car. The rear space of the Han EV is really excellent, even richer than the new space. It is not only more than enough for three people to ride in the back, but also very comfortable.
As far as I’m concerned, I have no regrets about buying two green cars. The quality experience brought by new energy vehicles can’t be given by fuel vehicles, so I feel very worthwhile.
Whether it’s a hybrid car or an extended-range electric car, the future of the green brand car is actually a pure tram. Although the pure tram has solved many pain points, it is still in the stage of rapid development, and there are many problems that need time to solve.
For the development of new energy vehicles, a large number of car owners are needed to support them now, but for the buyers, they have to face the harm to their own interests in the development of new energy vehicles.
Therefore, before buying a green brand car, you must combine your own actual situation and think twice before you act. Only in this way will you not regret it.
