It is also easy to talk about my views on static. First of all, the shape design of Geely Star Wish uses a lot of curves, which looks very round and full. It is undeniable that the overall design of Star Wish is still cute. Generally speaking, this design style will lose a lot of male consumers, but the actual car of Star Wish does not give people a clear sense of gender aesthetics. Geely Xingyuan adopts Geely 11-in-1 electric drive, rear single motor, low-power version motor power 58KW, high-power version is 85KW. We are testing the high-power version today, and the official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 9.8 seconds.
In terms of chassis, Geely Star adopts front McPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension, which can greatly improve driving comfort compared to the rear torque beam suspension used in other models of the same class, which is invaluable in A0 class models.
Today’s highlight is here! What is the actual driving experience of Star Wish? First of all, the acceleration of less than 10 seconds is definitely enough for the A0 class car with the city as the home court. Especially at low speed, the power response and smoothness of the whole vehicle are excellent. Especially in sports mode, it can give us some sense of push when it is lower than 50km/h.
The new car also has three driving modes, the difference between the three driving modes is mainly the linkage with the accelerator pedal. The kinetic energy recovery also has three adjustable gears, of which the low and middle gears are very slight to drag, and the high gear will be more obvious, but it is also in an acceptable range and will not cause discomfort.
The steering direction is average, but it is easier to use. The overall force feedback of the steering wheel is very light and cannot be adjusted.
The adjustment of the suspension is very advanced, and the overall adjustment is comfortable, which can filter out the fine bumps on the road very well. Moreover, it does not lose toughness when passing through potholes and speed bumps, and there is no extra bounce. Generally speaking, such a suspension setting will bring poor support, but when Star Wish is in high-speed parallel, cornering and other relatively extreme working conditions, the support performance of the suspension is also quite good, and the follow-up of the body is also quite sensitive. It is no exaggeration to say that at this level and price, Star Wish’s chassis performance is very top.
The foot feel of the brake pedal can be quickly adapted, and the effective travel is relatively linear. At the same time, the new car is equipped with CST comfort braking function, which can well suppress the brake nod, which is rare at this price.
The NVH performance of the new car is also excellent, especially at low speeds, whether it is wind noise or tire noise can be well suppressed. However, when the speed exceeds 90km/h, the wind noise and tire noise begin to become obvious. For an A0-class model with urban road conditions, it is not a big problem.
Summary: I have driven a lot of new energy cars, and most of them have obvious small flaws due to cost. But Geely’s dynamic performance can be said to be unmistakable. With excellent driving texture, enough space, and intelligent leapfrogging performance, Star Wish does have the potential to set a new benchmark? But for this price, price is the biggest trump card.
